Abstract Background It is estimated 6500 daily deaths by occupational diseases with a high social and economic impact. Several studies show that the perception of risks acts as precursor to preventive attitudes behaviors workers. Nevertheless, attention paid scarce even controversial. This study focuses on model used behavioral safety programs associating it psychometric paradigm, understand worker's risk Portuguese Health Education Research Institution (Portugal). Methods cross-sectional covered total 84 Of these,73% had very differentiated academic background (doctorate, post-doctorate degrees).
